First day!
78 miles, a lot of which is going to be up hill much to my dislike. But what goes up must come down right? After today I will have around 927 miles to go., but from what I gather about Cornwall, it is more likely that it will feel as if we have done 927 miles.
This first day has more climbing than any other day of the ride, Devon and leg 2 coming second in that category.
Still, we do get to stay at the Jamaica Inn of Du Maurier fame at the end of the day, it had better be as good as it's reputation.
Layout for this page is not the standard layout as there are so many climbs to fit in. Most of these through the day are a couple of hundred feet, its just the fact that they keep on coming one after the other.
Then throw in the fact that from about mile 70 to the end, we do some serious climbing up the edge of Bodmin moor.
