Day 11 - Killin to Aviemore

Mileage - 77.46
Climbing - 4,671ft
Total mileage to date - 857.71
Total climbing to date - 50,004 ft
All values approximate as I may get lost.

Hopefully, after a nice relaxing rest day, the legs will feel invigourated and I will dash through this leg.  I suspect, in reality, it may be harder to persuade myself that I should get back into the saddle!

However, not too long this day, in fact, I think it is bang on the average for the overall ride. Some interesting climbs during the day. I think they may not be as steep as some, but are long and climb quite high.

But by now, we are well and truly getting into the Highlands and some of the views should be wonderful, as long as the weather is kind.  That could be a big factor in whether this feels like 60 or 100 miles instead of the 77 that it actually is.

I do have the Fortingall Yew Tree to look forward to not that long after leaving Killin, just after heading away northwards from Loch Tay at about 15 miles.  This apparently is, not unsurprisingly, a Yew tree. Will find out more when we are there.

Later though, I feel a small detour may be needed to check out the Dalwhinnie Distillery.  In fact, maybe if I messaged them they would lay on a guided tour and some samples for us to take away.

The pictures are of the road after Tummel Bridge, hairpins!  The larger, flatter picture is actually the same road, coming in and going out.  Looks pretty.
