I really couldn't go on Desert Island Discs

I was thinking as I rode today about what to say about the ride and got to thinking about how I had referenced the Crowded House song yesterday. Should I reference another song, or would it quickly get corny with contrived links to what had happened and tracks, and probably not tracks in some cases that I was that bothered about?

In the end I decided that would be a bad idea and also there are just so many great tracks out there that how could I pick just a few, hence the reference to DID. What do they get, 12 tracks or 8 tracks and a couple of books, no way I could limit myself that much.

Taking the above into account, I decided I would just sing a track to myself as I went, no limits and that would get a mention in the blog. And as soon as I had done that, I gave myself a contrived link to the song I started singing thus invalidating all the previous arguments!

Anyway, what happened on the ride....

65 miles, mostly in the dry, winds less than yesterday. When I checked the weather this morning, it showed no rain at all, but turning back to the Downs, I saw a whacking great big black cloud over the Downs. Then looking over the top of bthe sunglasses, still quite black and probably damp under it. Thankfully I followed it South and then East as I tracked back home. Roads were wet in places, but all I had were a few spots.

Some hills again in Mid Sussex and fior the third time at the top of Pickwell Lane near Ansty, I saw this blackbird. How do I know it was the same one, well on Sunday I saw it when riding with the esteemed Mr Bennett, it has one completely white feather in its tail. I had seen it before Sunday and then again today. Chances of two blackbirds having that feather, no, too slim. I wonder if the other birds mock him.

Song = Wings - Blackbird. Good tune....
