Just spinning some wheels

Only a short one today. Weather not that inviting, other things planned a bit and with some good miles done this week felt I could give myself a bit of a day off and just do a quiet 15 out to Barcombe.

Apart from the Nevill, all fine on the ride. Any other cyclists may want to be careful of the bottom of East Way. Came round the corner into it to find a bottle smashed over the road. Thankfully stopped in time and walked by it. Too much mess to clear away, but a lady who drove through it straight after me said she would get her broom out. Well done madam.

Then at the end of the ride, just coming up South Way, a gentleman driving towards me seemed to forget that if cars are parked on his side he should pull in to let me pass, easy as there was a whopping big space just in front of him. I don't subscribe to the battle that seems to go on at times between cars and bikes, plenty of room for both of us, but this fellow tried the patience a bit!

On the ride, saw Mr Powell round the edge of Hamsey, and it made me think that I must get on with contacting local businesses to see how they can support this LEJOG. Chamber of Commerce contacts anyone?

And finally, ear worm today was Avril Lavigne, Anything but Ordinary please. Once you start singing the song or playing it in your head it really is very hard to get rid of it, particularly if it fits with the cadence that you are pedalling.

Why Ms Lavigne (she aint Mrs Kroeger anymore)? Bit of a hangover from a drive Monday to go to the funeral of an old friend of my mum and dad's when Ruth was in control of music and pulled that one out. She's off back to Uni now in the 'Pool and Sam is tossing frisbees this weekend before starting his last term at Reeds before having to go back to finishing the degree. Quiet house now....
