I should know by now....

That weather forecasts, even from the BBC can be just a guess.

Spot any rain on today's picture? Nope, neither did I. However, after 24 miles in the dry, the next 24 were decidely wet! Last 2 it stopped though, so that was a big bonus.

Did make me ride somewhat faster due to the rain, average moving speed on 16mph as opposed to 15 to 15.5, but I didn't fancy getting too wet. Had already to said to myself, if this happens on a ride, it happens. I won't get the choice of whether to ride or not come June/July. With this ride today, the last 7 days have seen me do 322 miles. Not bad for a week. Try for a few more days to see how it keeps going without a break as I have 10 days at the start before a break, again, prepare for what I have to do.

Different route today. Went out towards Hailsham through Upper Dicker, and then cut up to Gun Hill before droppig down through Ripe, Laughton, Ringmer and Barcombe. Once again, pretty countryside and not too many main roads to contend with. Didn't see many other cyclists, maybe they had seen better weather forecasts. Saw a couple heading out on a tandem from the caravan park at Deanland (do you take a tandem to a caravan for a holiday?) just as the rain was starting and one other guy when it was dry. Reminds me, I saw a couple of girls riding a tandem yesterday through Lewes. Don't see many tandems, then two in two days.

As was tweeted yesterday, good to see Mr Bennett getting miles in over the weekend, hope to get out for a ride with him next week. Less than 70 days now until we will both be enjoying the Cornish hills. Still room for more to join us, only 6,300 feet of climbing on that first day....

Today, had a hang over from yesterday on the music side. A Good Woman, as performed by Luke Wheeler (Will Chase) in Nashville. The CD was on in the car when I was driving down the town and the BPM for this track must just have synched with the pedalling cadence at some point as it then stuck. That could be a problem if it makes you go too fast or not fast enough, today was a good match. Guess I will find out soon enough if there is a reject button in my head.
