Huzzah!! A glorious Spring day.

Well, BBC was right today and what a lovely morning ride it was. Went wandering round some of the lanes out the back of Chiddingly, Horam and Waldron, just perfect.

Day hadn't started off too well with an overnight deflation. It would seem that where I had avoided East Way due to the glass, yesterday's rain just washed some of it down the hill into North Way again. Bother. Getting hard to find a way around the Nevill without going up a 'glass' road.

Having got new inner in, and restocked on a new one as well as patching the old one (seems to be holding ok), set off on usual roads out past Glynde. Now they have resurfaced part of the cycle path along the A27 at Firle, it's a lot more pleasant to ride. Could do with that on a few of the lanes I found later. 20-30 miles was a constant up and down, but only little Sussex ones. Looking at what one of the Exeter Joglers did the Devon and Cornwall hills are just bigger and steeper. Bother again.

Still, today's ride took me over the 2,000 miles so far this year, miles ahead of anything I have ever dome before at this time of the year. Remember, I only really started cycling 4 years ago so a bit of catching up to do. This was also 8 days on the trot, averaging about 47 a day in that time. The legs and bum aren't too sore and tired yet.

However, on the fitness side of things, Jenni (my wife) pointed out, this is probably the pinnacle. After the LEJOG, I will most likely never be as fit again. That would be depressing. Little does she know. The next challenge is cycling across America.... Only put that in to see if she is reading this.

Likewise, I have been asking for help for weeks to get a stall at Nevill Juvenile's Extravaganza day on June 11th. We can run a tombola, so prizes needed, volunteers to help man the stall needed, a stall needed, a tombola thing needed, I can try6 and get some posters and things from CRY, but they haven't been great in their support yet which is a shame. Think I may give them a ring, see if I am doing something wrong.

Also, need a date and venue for the auction either in July, or maybe August / September would be better? Have to think on that one.

Music today in the head was somewhat random, Depeche Mode - See you and Kylie Minogue - Better the devil you know. Believe me, I have no idea where the second one came from.
