Just a short one today as was leaving the bike for a spot of TLC from Joe at Proper on Tuesday. It seems to need it more than the rider at present as it has done 2,500+ miles so far this year in training for the LEJOG, 987 of those in the month of April and 297 in the last week.
Three people have now mentioned the over training phrase.
I am listening, so going off for a day or two to a luxury hotel to eat, drink (oh yes) and relax. I am sure that features somewhere on all training routines.
Today's ride was fun. Up Foxhole and then up Colwood Lanes. Colwood is a good one as it starts of gentle then keeps just gently ramping up, so that if you go too fast too soon it can be a touch painful at the top. Handcross by comparison is a gentle climb the way we came at it today, but still good elevation. Then leaving the guys to eat cake at Nymans, I turn round, come back to Proper and have cake there.
Carrot and walnut for me, Jenni tried the Berry crumble which was lovely as well. It is getting harder and harder to choose which cake. As you can see, I tried both.
This week should hopefully see progress on the shoe front and maybe even the spare bike front. Who knows....
