The last two days have reminded me that when riding a bike in the summer, you may perspire a bit as it has been warm enough for that to happen. Will need to make sure that we take on plenty of fluids on hot days and not just beer, cider or wine in the evening.
Mr B was out todat and we had a very pleasant ride up to Warninglid and back, via Proper for a cup of tea and cake. Also, Stewart wanted a quick chat with the McCracken, but the lesser spotted McCracken was off working elsewhere, phone instead then.
Nice cake, carrot cake with mango and pineapple as well, very moist and tasty and needed to replenish the energy levels. I am sure I read in some training guide how good carrot cake and variations on it are for long distance cycling. To date, I haven't tried any of the smaples of proper recovery, fueling and energy shakesthat I have, must do that and see if they make any difference. Guess the bottom line is, at the moment, have been feeling ok, but that has just been with an average of 50 miles a day and I will be averaging 77 a day on the ride. That is a significant extra bit. Must try the stuff, if not will need EPO.
As with Stewart, hadn't thought of any music today, but then on the way back into Lewes between Offham and the turn off down to the town, saw Arthur Brown walking along so we both (me and Stewart not me and Arthur) had a quick burst of 'I am the god of hell fire and I bring you....FIRE'. I suppose at least it wasn't in the first couple of miles that would have meant we sang it all the way around. I did like Arthur's red felt bowler that he was carrying, neat titfer.
Stuff to do this arvo, so off now...
