Just a rolling day

Just set out today to do a steady ride, not particularly fast, long, climby. Added a few miles by going to Glynde via Ringmer and Glyndbourne, otherwise more or less as planned so ended up as 60.

Couple of pictures from todays ride. The bluebells, although starting to fade are still stunning in places and there was one point where it was as if I was driving through a petal shower, so much blossom falling on the road.

The ear worm for today was a great one, so didn't bother changing tracks, bit of Lynrrrrd Skynrrrd and Sweet Home Alabama.

Think I need to invest in a second bottle cage on the bike now that it is warming up, as fluid intake is very important. Have been ok the last couple of rides where it has warmed up, but conscious that I have drunk a lot when getting in so the intake has been inbalanced. Far better to take some early rather than after the fact.

On the plus side, the nagging (shooting) pain in the right foot that I experienced yesterday at the end of the ride came back today after about 45, but by just fiddling with the tightness of the shoe it went away. Still learning with those things, but on the plus side, still haven't gone sideways, although I am sure it is only a matter of time. The worse that has happened has been a couple of scrotomisations where I have not clipped in the left foot properly when I thought I had and haven't been sitting down when the foot slips off the pedal resulting in the aforementioned condition as you sit down very suddenly. You try not to do that twice, but I did, so I am concentrating on not doing it a third time as it hurts.

Tomorrow, thunder storms and heavy rain forecast, so will take the day off and do a pile of paperwork type things. Riding 4 hours a day takes huge chunks of time out of the days so do not get done what I should get done! On the plus side, hopefully it will mean that I can do the ride as will have prepared enough.

Need to go work up a poster now...
