Not such a smiley day.

Way to start the day off badly, finding that Ihave missed the deadline for Viva Lewes to be in their June edition. It would have helped if I had chased earlier to arrange the interview, or if I had been advised of the cut off dates! Anyway, you have to stay positive and see what can be got from it, hopefully they will be able to include something in their online presence, or do something retrospectively in July if it fits with the theme for the monthy, but I haven't heard back from them again today. I guess they are busy finalising the edition.

After that, which there is no two ways about it, is quite a major blow to raising profile for the ride as it would have gone to all Lewes houses, bit difficult to get up and motivated today.

Went for a short ride this afternoon, which felt very comfortable. I know I took yesterday off, but the legs do feel easier. Wonder if that has anything to do with the protein shake I have been trying? Got a bit left so will try again after tomorrow when I will go a bit further.

Scarecrows seem to be popping up all over the shop at the moment. Have seen 4 or 5 in peoples gardens over the last few days. I know Isfield has a scarecrow festival, but haven't been through there, so these are elsewhere.

Also, forgot to relate a Sunday incident. Now, you have to track the brackets carefully here, as I think I may ramble a bit.

Did you see the advert (or are you like me, fast forward through the adverts because you don't watch anything live anymore?) that was on a couple of months back for a service that is meant to help you buy cheap train tickets (don't always believe what they offer you as the best price, it is sometimes better to break a journey and do in two bits. Going down west for LEJOG we have found that there was a difference of £19 against £76 by doing that) where there was a guy who was reciting a poem a la Auden and ended up standing on a platform of communters where he suddenly went 'BLAAAA BLAAAA!'.

Anyway, that tickled me when I saw it, having been a commuter, as there was no reaction from the commuters around him (presumably extras (that could be fun to do)), which is what commuters would have done, i.e. ignored him. When out riding down Beechwood Lane and going under the train bridge, I have taken to letting loose a 'BLAAA BLAA' and admiring the echo. I did this last Sunday when riding with the group and think I may have startled one or two of them based on the comments I got. Made me larf that did.....

Actually, weren't too many brackets. Or should I have used ; instead? Maybe I shall have to ask a 6 year old who has just taken their leaked SATs test, they will know.
