4 weeks 1 day and I am on the train to Penzance. 4 weeks 2 days and it will be Cornwall. Am I ready?
Well, I don't have to be ready yet, I still have 4 weeks 1 day, but things are looking quite good I would say.
Went for a longer ride today to see how everythying felt and what the times came in like. 55 miles at 16 is definitely a bit quicker than usual. The new position and efficiency seemed to help most when going uphill, but some hills where I put a bit of effort in didn't PB, some did, some had wind behind some didn't, no real pattern, but I would say definitely better. Also, when climbing I used to get quad pain, now its not just at the front of the leg, it's the whole leg. But less and easier to control.
Nice tea and cake at Proper, shame Ross unwell so our logistics etc. meeting will have to wait.
One thing that I have to mention and yak on about, on my blog post from Wednesday, I got a couple of likes. They were from Michael Bonsor. Now I thought that was strange as I didn't remember liking my blog, in fact I thought it was a bit pants, but then looked again and it registered that this was the Michael Bonsor who had been on the BBC (? maybe Channel 4?) series about the Savoy (Claridges?) hotel in London who was manager there and just happened to have the good fortune to be named after me! He has now moved onto the best new hotel in London I gather. And he liked my blog post!! Cool.
He hasn't yet accepted the invitation to join me for a leg of the ride though. Maybe I shall have to give his hotel a try. It could be quite entertaining booking a lunch reservation in my name and seeing what they say.
