Flattie birthday to me....

57 years old now. Gosh, that's young. Will I beat Prince, let you know in 365 days.

Anyway, went for a ride with Stewart today, got out early which suited us both and had mid 40s in mind. Very pleasant morning for a ride as it was warm without being too warm, wind was negligible and no rain forecats or happened. Usual way out to Bug Hill and then up Foxhole and Colwood, which are nice lanes just they go up. Wiggled around and coming back down, felt the rim as I was going across the second of the Wineham bridges so pulled over and changed the inner.

CDouldn't work out where the problem ad been, but as it was a patched one thought in the end that the patch may have given up, so carried on. 3 miles later stopped again. Tankfully, back of my mind had said not to put in the new one and the second patched one went, same wheel. Aftera lot of searching found the smallest thing slightly into the side. Odd, as could not see it at all from outside the wheel and it would not pull or push out, so in the end sandpapered it down. Tube still up now so looks to have worked, but it could be time for a new tyre. Although it's only 5 months old, it has done 3,500 miles nearly. See you in the morning Joe as I'm riding out that way anyway.

Not much of a birthday present from the cycling karma being, but hey, maybe I have been naughty recently.

I think I behaved well enough last night. Wore a bow tie when out to din dins at the Ginger Dog with Lesa and Danny. Didn't drink or eat too much and was polite most of the time. Must have been some other time.

Lots of riders out today and runners too. I certainly got the impression that there may have been a Bug Hill triathlon going on and the riders were on some other ride. Proper cafe also heaving but only borrowed the pump as we had lost tea and cake time with fixing the punctures. Was good to have bit of support and assistance as opposed to the flatties having been when I was out on my own.

Now, I am off to behave like a 57 year old...
