And the reason for that is that it will be on its way down to the West country. Along with Stewart's bike, it will reside in Totnes before meeting up with me again for a happy reunion in Penzance on June 18th. Then it starts working to make up for its two days off.
Quite a nice ride today, just under 60 rolling around West Sussex. I saw a black cat lieing in the road round the back of Barcombe. Thankfully when I went ding (well the bell, not me, I wouldn't be silly now would I), it ran out of the road, silly cat. Then, coming out of Barcombe, moorhen and two fluffy bundles skittering by the road. Much later on we had some black and white llamas or alpacas, they weren't in the road. No mice today.
What we have by way of a competition today, is which church is in the photo? It was on my route today. No prizes, just glory to be had. Do not worry, the mouse will be back.
Good news on sponsorship, those nice men at Morris Road Garage have signed up as sponsors for a day. On the website now. Always found them to be really good people to deal with, looked after our cars well and nice to boot. Have another one lined up that I hope to be able to inform you of early next week.
Also, teh Sussex Express have expressed (groan, corny..) interest in doing a couple of stories on the ride so I have suggested four stories. They want some pictures of me training, maybe the mouse video could be useful after all. Anyway, it's great news that they will do something. Waiting to hear back from the Argus. Have also been approaching a few others for day sponsorship or publicity.
Day off tomorrow from riding, cricket instead. Must try not to concuss myself this week.
Sunday, ride with Stewart in the Bug Hill ride. Will meet him about 7.15 (yuk, that's early) to do 20+ before doing the 40 of the ride then 15 or so back to give us Day 1 distance. At least the forecast is great for Sunday. And, we have the chance of being run over by Ross as he is driving the broom wagon.
Anything else? There will be a picture of another cake shortly as well, this one will be a 'Nick' cake. I ate my remaining one today.
