This is still subject to confirmation with CRY, but looking at all the events we have done over the last year, I reckon we are now at £8,530.23.
That is before some sponsorship money I know is to come in and money from Robbie that was donated last year as well. That would take us to £9,127.23.
If you add Gift Aid, and I need to understand from CRY how that works, then the total would be £9,812.33 or with the other monies mentioned, £10,409.33p. That is pretty amazing. Another £1,600 would see us running two screening days for 100 people each day.
This blog has been all about money so far, but that is why I am cycling (hopefully) 1,000+ miles over the next couple of weeks. Yes, it's that close, start Sunday.
If I succeed in the ride and we raise £12,000 with the other money raised, 200 people get screened. If we raise more, then we may screen 300 or more. During the ride, and I make no apology for quoting this statistic again, it is most likely that 24 people will die of an undiagnosed heart problem.
These screenings can save the lives of other people who may have similar problems as let's face it, if you are aged between 14 and 35 which is the target demographic for these tests to be most effective, then that is far too young to die.
So please everyone, there have been some requests for more sponsors sent out today, an auction item ending tomorrow, and general requests for more donations, please retweet, share on facebook, talk to people, whatever it takes to get more money in.
Now, some snippets from today:
- Said thanks to Joe today for his recent work on the bike, won't see him again now until after the ride.
- Have agreed a meeting time and place with Ruth Lowe (National CRY representative) when we get to Preston.
- Agreed a time to meet Adeptis (Nye Bidwell) to collect the big cheque (literally a big cheque, presentation stylee) for shirt sponsorship.
- Received more marvellous dontaions and sponsorship. Particularly grateful to an old work colleague setting up her new business (Red Wizard Consulting Limited) who has made a large sponsorship donation. Equally grateful to the other donations received today. Also, some wonderful people working on the sharing to get more support, thank you for that.
- More excellent work from the Blakes selling cakes has brought in another £20.
Think that's it for now....4 days to go.
