I DON'T HAVE A BIKE

It's been taken away. The next time I see it will be in Cornwall, Saturday evening.
Hopefully, no significance in the weather that we loaded mine and Stewart's bike onto the low loader otherwise masquerading as Helen and Steve's car this evening as it was damp. Very good bike rack, might have to nick it to stick it on Ruth's Yaris to come back from J O'G with.
Spent a lot of the day panicing about what still had to be sorted and what hadn't / couldn't be done. It is what it is now really. At least we have the spare wheels.
Loaded routes to the first of the Garmins. This takes forever as Garmin frequently lies about what it has or has not transferred from PC to device. Just finished off the back up Garmin tonight. Now have to cross fingers and hope that when fired up Sunday they do actually show me the routes I need to go on. Could be a lot of busking if that doesn't work. Might have to resort to paper as a back up. Maybe there is a niche there, I could produce paper copies of what is on devices and sat navs. I will call it a map book. It will be good as it is always there.
Dear Nick dropped round a supply of Bakewell tarts this afternoon for consumption on the ride. He had been with Ross playing at coffee making during the afternoon and Ross seems to have suddenly decided that he hasn't ridden 70 miles in a day for a while so it may hurt a bit. Will have to see if I can throw in a detour or two to stretch the distance and make him feel at home. If he struggles, sure he won't though as he is young and fit, I can dangle a Bakewell tart in front of him for encouragement. Or just go behind him and whack him with a stick. If te stick is smooth it wonb't hurt too much, but I am sure it could have bits sticking out of it that could cause lots of pain and damage. Hmm, that's not very nice of me, and I haven't even been riding solo for a few days yet. Come back and check this blog out after day 12, could be very interesting.
Didn't get out for a ride with all the fun and games today, the rest will do me good.
More good progress on donations, sponsorship and progress towards that second day for screening.
Finally, if anyone reading this has freinds or relatives in Cornwall, we are staying at The Yacht Inn in Penzance on Saturday night, where we will be up until at least 8:45 before getting our beauty sleep (some of us need it more than others) and at the world famous Jamaica Inn on Sunday night. Yacht Inn very friendly people over the phone so looking forward to meetig up with them, Jamaica Inn less open to helping us financially but are giving us a free bottle of wine to help ease the pain. It floats our boats I feel. Come join the party, we will be the smelly people in the corner wearing CRY t-shirts and cycling tops. I really must work on making my invitations more attractive.
