Firstly, thanks again to Julie and Red Wizard Consulting Ltd for their magnificent sponsorship. Best of luck with the new business Jools.

Thank the lord it’s almost rest day. I am so ready for it. Never knew that driving around after someone would be so tiring.

I actually ate breakfast today in the hotel as Mike was doing a long first stage so I could go as a sensible time of day- e.g. not 8am. The first stop was at the Kelpies today, some big steal horse things. They were really cool, but not cool enough for a £7 tour round the outside of them; think I’ll just Wikipedia them later.

While we were there Jenni had a bit of an accident, no not the one your thinking of. Out of the corner of my eye I saw her stumble, and just as I turned round she fell completely on the floor. Instead of being a good daughter and rushing to her side, I keeled over laughing at her, before seeing if she needed a hand to stand up again. Just to clarify she was fine, I’m not that mean.

What made us laugh harder was the fact its #internationalinsuranceawarenessday. We debated getting her to lay back down on the floor and I’d take a picture but we decided that would be too embarrassing to recreate.

On the way to the third stop Jenni and I got there nice and early and decided we should go for a drink at a café a few miles down the road. Now when we got there I said we should go back to the meeting place for three, Jenni disagreed and said that getting there for half 3 would be just fine. And what do you know, at five past three we get a call from Mike asking us where we are. Trust me on this one, daughters know best.

So over 90 miles compelted today with no big hiccups or issues. Quite a success I think. Wifi is being a bit of an issue in our current location so excuse us if we don’t post as much as we normally do. And don’t expect many #supportteamantics tomorrow, as I think we are planning on a very chilled day.

Riders bit

The longest day today, it ended up being 92 miles. A little bit down from the targeted mileage, but route changes, weather and additional miles done other days means that I am still on track to honour the 1,015 miles promised.

Not a lot to say today. The first 50 miles were as dull as ditchwater, really, what is the point of Edinburgh? It’s hard to get into and out of, has no consideration for cyclists and is pricey. I think at present I have it alongside Bolton in terms of my least favourite places on the ride.

Having said that, very nice hotel last night, good room, food and lovely comfy big bed. Haggis slice for breakfast as well.

Moan over, the afternoon was better roads and scenery. Coming up from Dunblane (Andy was busy elsewhere otherwise I am sure he would have had his bunting out for me), through to Comrie was a really nice climb, open hills, but a touch damp. Gave it a bit of a brooding atmosphere. Did see my second hare of the ride lolloping along the road, only doing 15mph this time.

Strange coming down into Comrie, there were loads of Nissan huts in a field. Sure it cant still be a military base, will have to Google ‘Why are there lots of Nissan huts outside Comrie?’.

Next leg was alongside Loch Earn. Very nice indeed, and a cyberman coming out of the loch. The last bit was the only mountain of the day, at 85 miles in. Also meant there was a good down to finish the day on. Was amusing seeing the support car turn the wrong way to go to the hotel.

Tomorrow I rest ahead of the last push up to the top. Touching distance almost now. This may only get posted when we get away from Killin as the internet may not have reached here yet.
