Snow, in June?

Thanks to Wilmoths, our sponsor of the day for today.
Day 11 complete, only two days left to do! 77 miles done today. The weather wasn’t best with some heavy rain at lunch time but it did brighten up throughout the day.
A horrible start this morning as at half six in the, the hotel fire alarm went off. Now I was better than Jenni and Mike, I actually got out of bed and went out of my room to investigate. Only to find that someone had had their shower on too hot and had set it off. I was not amused.
While driving to the 3rd stop Jenni and I decided that it was time for a café stop, getting tea and hot chocolate- that tasted awful. But when was worse than the cheap, poorly made drinks was the fact that as we came out Jenni had the unpleasant experience of a bird relieving themselves above her which landed on her arm. What grossed her out the most was the fact it was still warm when it hit her arm.
Very disgusting.
Apart from that poo incident there was no other disgusting things to report from today. The support team antics of singing Adele today took about five times to film without it cutting out, or the sat nav stopping the music, or a tractor being in the middle of the road causing sudden braking.
Second to last day tomorrow, seems very weird saying that. Still lots of miles left to do but it’s going to be worth it when we get the screening days set up and potentially save a young persons life.
Riders bit.
Glad to be taking to the road again after the rest day and wondering if I would see a benefit from chilling or if it would be harder to get the legs going again.
Four mountains today would test that question. Of the four, only one of them was just a steady old drag, the other three were really quite steep and long (double beacons all of them). Still, did them and was rewarded with some lovely views on the way, including the odd patches of snow up on the highest mountains which was a bit of a surprise.
Today really was probably the one day on the ride when the route all worked absolutely fine, the speed was maintained, all the meets were perfect and the weather really was pretty decent. Not perfect, but I would tend to say that I was pretty lucky overall today to only get very slightly damp.
864 miles done now. Tomorrow will go past the signposted distance that is at Land’s End for John O’Groats, with about 152 left to do, one way or another.
As Ruth says, close to 2 days screening, another £135 needed. Would be good to have that raised before the end.
Silliness now, how does an elephant get down from a tree? It sits on a leave and waits for autumn.
