Out of the bubble

Well, been back a day now and starting to emerge from the bubble that I have been living in for the last 2 1/2 months. It is strange that something that became so all encompassing for me and for na while for Jenni and Ruth has now finished and to many people it never even registered.

However, we did manage to make quite a splah. Before the ride, the had a reach on the Facebook page of about 200-400, but during the ride this peaked at 7,000. That's a huge number of people who were being updated on my saddle sores (thankfully these were controlled and did not interfere at all), the days riding and of course the support team antics.

So glad that we hit tha target at lunch on the last day and I really struggle to describe the feeling of euphoria that came over me on the last two miles down to the signpost at John O'Groats.

Tomorrow I will start making contact with the colleges and CRY about how we organise dates for the screenings. There is still scope for more money to be raised as well by holding follow up events.

For other riders, I have been back on the bike twice already, once to check it had travelled back fine and today just for fun. I can now ride for fun again without having to think of doing lots of miles every week, so get a lot more time.

For now, off to bed, but the blog posts will continue until we have held screening days.

In the meantime, good wishes to anyone out there undertaking a LEJOG or JOGLE.
