Aw, shucks...but it has raised the profile again.

Well, here it is, the article in the Sussex Express about the 'Community Hero'. Must admit, still feel that theer are plenty more deserving people out there, but won't knock it as it does help raise the profile of the fuind raising again.

Thank you Claire for your donation. I imagine it was prompted by seeing this article, as there hasn't been anything else really happening recently that I have publicised.

Back to work this week after the 5 1/2 months off either training for the ride, organising the logistics of the ride, organising the charity side of the ride, doing the ride and eventually resting after the ride! It does feel strange to bge back as part of the corporate world having been out of it for so long. I have never been off work that long before. Even back at school, summer holidays were only two months.

It has actually made me think about the ride more again. The focus that went into it. The amazing support I received not just from my truly fantistic collection of support drivers and riders, but from all sorts of people before the ride giving help in preparation, advice, getting me, the bike and others ready for the ride and eventually culminating in me having the confidence to believe that I could do this that got me through that first soaking couple of days and the darkness of day 6! I am so grateful to you all for helping me do this. You deserve this every bit as much as I do.

Another thing I have been thinking of during the week was how much more satisfying it is to have done something like this as opposed to the normal work. I think I have to find a way to do more. I don't know what yet, but there must be something.

I cant do more sponsored rides and the like as I would feel guilty going back to the same people who have been so kind donating this time around, I really have milked it bigtime this event, but look what we have achhieved, or will do when we get the screening days held.

On those, there is good news and I suppose more good news. They are pencilled in with CRY, and the colleges have been responding to my contacting them, but CRY have such a schedule that where we have them booked in for March 13th and 14th, it is in 2018. As I say, it is great that there are so many screening events being held, but it does seem a shame in some way that we cannot have ours next year, but I will start sharing the dates and venues of those that have been booked in acse there are other local events being held. It doesn't matter whose day people get screened at, if they have a problem they dont know about, the sooner the better.

Bit of a rambling one this, seem to have got out of the knack of writing pithy, concise blogs.

Laters.....
