And now I have broken the third bike!

Recently I seem to have been proving the rule that you need N+1 bikes at any time in life.

Poor old Eddy is awaiting a part to be sent from Latvia and the international courier has so far only made it to Portugal as its warmer there.

Out riding Endeavour, the mountain bike, on Thursday evening, a pedal just dropped off! Need to get a new pair.

And today, just starting out, suddenly found that I only had the small ring for gears, with a limit due to cross chaining (technical term I heard somewhere, think I am using it correctly) of 8 of the 10 gears on that ring available.

Apparently, like the Merckx from Evans, this Trek has a known problem. Difference from the Merckx from Evans, the Trek will be fixed Monday!

It was such a lovely morning this morning though that I accepted the limitation and had a most pleasant ride.
